The Münsterland cycling park

The Münster region is the first tourism region in North Rhine-Westphalia to have a uniformly signposted cycling route network extending to well over 4,500 kilometres. Around 18,000 signposts are waiting to guide cyclists through the Münsterland cycling park. The cycling park system is signposted with both destination and km details, and offers nearly 200 clearly marked circular routes ranging between 10 and 40 km, as well as numerous possible combinations. These circular routes combine to form a dense honeycomb network, each 'honeycomb' of which is identified by a number. If you just want to take a day excursion, all you have to do is select a number and then follow the relevant signposts. This 'honeycomb network' also forms the basis for various thematic routes (e.g. the 100 Castles Route) as well as routes taking you through vacation areas, such as the Aa-Vechte tour in the Steinfurt region. In order to take one of these tours, all the cyclist needs to do is follow the relevant route pictogram. Of course, you can also take short cuts - thanks to the honeycomb structure, you won't lose your way...
