Balloon above the Steinfurt countryside
You always wanted to go ballooning? Here and now you have the option to do so. The Müsternländer park landscape is almost better suited than any other place because of the combination of hedges, forests, yards and fields, which looks from above as a beautiful mosaic. You will experience take-off and landing at first hand, which means that you will be actively involved in the process. As the tradition: all first-time balloonists can look forward to ennoblement. So, after your maiden voyage, you can expect a splendid baptism of fire and barley water.
The programme:
Before starting off, you'll have to 'muck in' and help prepare the hot-air balloon.
Important:
Since ballooning depends largely on weather conditions, a trip may be cancelled due to bad weather. An alternative date will be agreed as soon as possible. Physical fitness is vital, as are sports clothes and sturdy footwear.

Cycling to a farmer's supper
Arrival at the Westphalian Farmhouse in Steinfurt-Borghorst. Guided bike tour to the Borghorst Folk House. Back to the farm for your farmer's supper: home-baked country bread, pumpernickel, ham, various types of Westphalian sausage, scrambled eggs, home-made jam, milk, coffee, tea and various home-made juices...

Trip in a covered wagon & and evening around the fire
Afternoon arrival at the Westphalian Farmhouse in Steinfurt-Borghorst. Start your two-hour trip with a horse and covered wagon through the Steinfurt park landscape. Enjoy a peaceful end to the day back at the farmhouse. Sup in country style: home-baked bread. Westphalian ham, fried eggs straight from the open fire ... and, of course, a tot or a pint for those who want it.
The "Kiepenkerl" will entertain you with a few Westphalian "Dönekes" until your departure at around 22.00 hrs.

Münsterland country fare
Baked ham, sauerkraut with pineapple and mashed potato, washed down by a jug of beer and followed by a traditional Welfenspeise as dessert. At around 16.00 hrs, you'll leave for your tour of the Hollich Mill (grain mill). You'll then go on a brief hike to a typical Münsterland country inn, where a hearty country meal awaits you at long tables in front of an open fire.
A Treckbühl, or accordion, player will ensure that you get into the right mood during your meal. Let your evening end sitting cosily together around the fire.

Pedaling along
10.00 hrs: arrival in Steinfurt-Burgsteinfurt. Welcome with a Steinfurt liqueur. Start your merry Pättkes tour through the Münsterland park landscape. Around noon, you'll stop at a cosy country inn where you'll be served a hearty pea soup garnished with sausages. Discover who your Schützenkönig is during a shoot: you'll be using an air pistol to shoot at a wooden bird, and the winner will be rewarded with a pair of clogs. In fine fettle, you'll then cycle back to Steinfurt-Burgsteinfurt for dinner: a Westphalian platter of cold meats awaits you, complete with ham, smoked meat, liverwurst, various types of sausage, pickles, Mettendchen and different kinds of bread.
